Getting Started
How do I get started with SubCheck?
The first thing you should do is visit the Settings page. Set your preferred 'Base Currency', 'Theme' and confirm your 'Timezone'. Once that's done, you can start adding subscriptions on the dashboard manually, via AI Image Scan (receipts, invoices) or via Bulk Import using our CSV template.
Is there a mobile app?
SubCheck is a Progressive Web App (PWA). This means you can install it directly on your phone or desktop without visiting an app store. On mobile (Safari/Chrome), tap 'Share' or the menu button and select 'Add to Home Screen' for a native app-like experience.
Billing & Subscriptions (Pro)
What features are included in the Pro Plan?
The Pro Plan unlocks all premium capabilities: Unlimited Subscriptions, AI Image Scan, Bulk CSV Import, Multi-Currency Conversion, Spending Insights, Smart Reminders, and Data Portability.
How do I upgrade to the Annual Plan?
If you are on a Monthly plan, you can upgrade to Annual at any time to save ~30% (or more with Early Bird offers). Go to the Dashboard, find the 'Billing & Subscription' card, and click 'Switch to Annual'. You will be charged the difference or the new amount immediately.
What payment methods do you accept?
We use Paystack (a Stripe company) for secure payment processing. We accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). We do not store your card details.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime from the Dashboard. In the 'Billing & Subscription' card, click 'Cancel Subscription'. Your Pro features will remain active until the end of your billing period. To delete your account completely, go to the Profile page and select 'Delete Account'.
Only 3 Days Free Trial?
Yes, we offer a 3-day full-access trial with no credit card required. This gives you enough time to import your data, test the AI features, and see the value of our dashboard before deciding to subscribe.
Who Am I Paying?(SubCheck by Doz Designs)
You will notice "SubCheck by Doz Designs" displayed on the SubCheck website and app footer. This is because SubCheck is created, hosted and maintained as by Dorian Eltze, operating under the name of Doz Designs. You will be paying Doz Designs for the use of SubCheck. You can expect to see Doz Designs branding on the Paystack(a Stripe Company) secure payment page.
App Features & Usage
How does the AI Image Scan work?
Simply take a photo or screenshot of a subscription receipt, invoice, or billing page. creating a new subscription, select 'Auto-Fill'. Upload the image, and our AI will extract the Name, Price, Currency, and Renewal Date for you automatically.
How does currency conversion work?
You set a 'Base Currency' in Settings (e.g., ZAR or USD). If you add a subscription in a different currency (e.g., GBP), we automatically convert the cost to your Base Currency using daily updated exchange rates for your dashboard totals.
What are 'Collections'?
Collections are custom labels or folders for your subscriptions (e.g., 'Work', 'Entertainment', 'Fitness'). You can assign a subscription to multiple collections to filter your dashboard and track spending by specific life categories.
Can I import my data from another app?
Yes! Use the 'Import CSV' button on the dashboard. We provide a downloadable CSV template. You can export data from your bank or other tools into this format and upload it to migrate hundreds of subscriptions in seconds.
How do renewal reminders work?
We send automated emails 1-3 days before a subscription is set to renew. You can configure your timezone to receive timely email reminders before a subscription renews.
Account & Security
Is my financial data secure?
Absolutely. We use Google Firebase for banking-grade security and authentication. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never see or store your credit card details—payments are handled entirely by Paystack (PCI-DSS compliant).
Can I share my account?
SubCheck is designed for individual personal or business use. We recommend one account per user to ensure accurately tracking and reminders, though you can track family subscriptions on one shared account if you choose.
How do I delete my account?
Go to the 'Profile' page and scroll down to the 'Danger Zone'. Click 'Delete My Account'. Warning: This is permanent and will erase all your subscriptions and data immediately.
